This notice applies to search-engine-optimization.org including its associated pages and subdomains (such as palo-alto-seo.search-engine-optimization.org) unless a different notice is displayed (collectively, the “Site”).
The Site publishes independent notes, commentary, essays, guides, creative work, and reference material concerning search engine optimization, Palo Alto, Ardan Michael Blum, the SEO agency A. Blum Localization Services and related topics.
The Site is independently owned and published. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or officially connected to any person, organization, institution, company, public body, product, or service discussed on its pages unless such a relationship is expressly stated.
The Site does not currently carry paid advertising, affiliate links, sponsored placements, or paid recommendations. Links to the publisher’s own projects or professional work are not third-party paid advertisements.
Reasonable efforts are made to consult useful sources, identify quotations, distinguish documented facts from interpretation, and correct material errors. Nevertheless, sources can change, information can become outdated, and reasonable interpretations can differ.
Corrections are welcome. Please identify the page, the statement at issue, and a reliable supporting source when possible. Material corrections may be identified by an updated date or explanatory note.
Some material may be researched, fact-checked, organized, translated, edited, or revised with the assistance of artificial-intelligence tools. These tools can help identify possible sources, test wording, and flag factual or logical problems, but they can also make mistakes.
Artificial intelligence is used as an editorial aid. Ardan Michael Blum selects the subjects, directs the work, substantively reviews the material, makes the final editorial decisions, and accepts responsibility for what is published. Material is not published merely because an AI system produced or recommended it.
The nature and extent of AI assistance may differ between pages. When applicable law requires a specific disclosure for AI-generated or AI-manipulated text, images, audio, or video, that disclosure will appear with the affected material.
References to fact-checking or AI-assisted research describe parts of an editorial process. They are not guarantees that a page is complete, neutral, current, or free from error.
Unless otherwise stated, copyright in original human-authored expression, editorial selection and arrangement, and other protectable material on the Site belongs to Ardan Michael Blum to the extent recognized by law.

Copyright does not extend to facts, ideas, methods, public-domain material, or third-party material merely because it appears on the Site. Quotations, trademarks, photographs, illustrations, documents, and other third-party materials remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.
You may link to public pages, save or print a reasonable copy for personal non-commercial use, and quote limited excerpts for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching, scholarship, or review, with reasonable attribution and a link where practical.
These permissions do not limit fair use, fair dealing, public-domain use, or other rights provided by law. Except where applicable law permits otherwise, substantial republication, commercial redistribution, bulk scraping, systematic copying, or creation of a dataset from substantial portions of the Site requires prior permission.
Except where authorized by law, no permission is granted to use substantial portions of protectable Site content for machine-learning training, model fine-tuning, commercial retrieval systems, or the creation of competing or substitute content. This reservation does not restrict facts, ideas, public-domain material, fair use, lawful research, or other legal exceptions that cannot be excluded.
For personal information submitted directly to the publisher, Ardan Michael Blum determines why and how the information is used and is the data controller where that term applies.
Third-party providers may process other information as processors, service providers, or independent controllers under their own terms, privacy policies, and legal responsibilities.
The Site may receive:
your email address and message when you use the contact form;
your telephone number and message if you call or send a text;
information contained in a correction, accessibility report, permission request, copyright concern, professional inquiry, or other communication; and
material you voluntarily submit for possible editorial consideration or publication.
Please do not send passwords, financial account details, medical records, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information through ordinary contact channels.
The Site is created and hosted using Google Sites. The publisher has not connected Google Analytics to the Site and has not installed publisher-controlled visitor-measurement, advertising, remarketing, or cross-site behavioral-tracking code.
This does not mean that no cookies or technical processing occur. Google may process information needed to deliver, secure, maintain, and operate Google Sites. This may include the requested page address, Internet Protocol address, browser or device characteristics, request times, referring information, cookies, and similar technical data.
The Site links to a contact form hosted by Google Forms. The form currently requests an email address and a message. If you submit it, Google processes the submission and the publisher receives the information entered.
Google describes its practices in the Google Privacy Policy, its explanation of how it uses information from sites and applications using its services, and its information about Google cookies.
Providing contact information is voluntary, although a working reply address may be necessary to receive an answer.
Some pages may contain or link to third-party content or services, including:
embedded YouTube videos;
Google Maps;
calendars;
Google documents or forms;
audio or video players;
social-media widgets;
ticketing or event services;
advertising or audience-measurement services, if introduced and separately disclosed; or
other third-party tools, trackers, or interactive features.
Depending on the service and how it is implemented, a provider may receive information when its content loads or when a visitor interacts with it. Technologies used by a provider may include:
cookies;
tracking pixels;
web beacons;
tags;
scripts;
embedded frames;
local or session storage;
device or advertising identifiers;
Internet Protocol addresses;
browser and device characteristics;
referring-page information;
interaction data;
software development kits; or
similar tracking, storage, or measurement technologies.
An embedded service may receive technical information even if the visitor does not create an account or actively submit information. If the visitor is signed in to the provider’s service, the provider may associate the interaction with that account according to its own policies and settings.
A plain external link generally does not load the linked service until the visitor follows the link. Embedded material, by contrast, may establish a connection with the provider when the page or embedded feature loads.
The publisher does not control every cookie, identifier, retention period, or processing decision used independently by Google or another provider.
If the Site introduces a publisher-selected advertising, audience-measurement, remarketing, or behavioral-tracking service, the relevant provider and purpose will be disclosed. Any notice, consent, or opt-out mechanism legally required for that service will be provided before it is intentionally used.
A privacy notice by itself does not replace legally required consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
Information received directly by the publisher may be used to:
read and answer messages;
investigate corrections or accessibility reports;
consider permission or copyright requests;
respond to professional or service inquiries;
manage editorial submissions;
prevent spam, abuse, fraud, or security incidents;
protect legal rights and safety; and
comply with applicable law or valid legal process.
The publisher does not sell or rent personal information and does not use contact submissions for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information may be processed by providers supporting hosting, forms, communications, embedded content, security, or other Site functions. It may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Contact information and correspondence are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, manage related follow-up, document a permission or correction, prevent abuse, comply with a legal obligation, or establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies and service settings.
Reasonable care is taken with information handled directly by the publisher. No method of Internet transmission, electronic storage, or third-party service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Privacy rights depend on where a person lives, the nature of the Site, and whether a particular law applies. Nothing in this notice is intended to reduce a right provided by applicable law.
Where applicable California privacy law applies, California residents may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information. They may also have rights concerning the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, sensitive personal information, and retaliation for exercising privacy rights.
The publisher does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising.
The Site does not respond differently to the older “Do Not Track” signal because that signal does not communicate a universally standardized legal request.
Global Privacy Control may constitute a legally recognized opt-out request. Because the publisher does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no publisher-operated sale or advertising-sharing system for the signal to disable. Where applicable law nevertheless requires action in response to a recognized privacy signal, the publisher will comply with that requirement.
Where the European Union General Data Protection Regulation applies, processing may rely on:
legitimate interests, including operating and protecting an independent publication, receiving and answering correspondence, correcting errors, preventing misuse, and protecting legal rights;
steps taken at a person’s request before entering into a contract, where a communication concerns possible professional services;
consent, where consent is requested and legally required; or
legal obligations, where information must be retained, used, or disclosed under applicable law.
People covered by the GDPR may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a portable copy of their personal information. They may also have the right to object to certain processing, withdraw consent for future processing, and complain to the competent supervisory authority.
European electronic-privacy and national cookie laws may require consent before non-essential cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, local storage, or similar technologies are used.
Where the United Kingdom GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, or Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations apply, individuals may have rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Non-essential cookies and comparable storage or access technologies will be subject to consent where United Kingdom law requires it.
Where the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies, individuals may request information about personal data processed by the publisher and may have rights to correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or other remedies provided by Swiss law.
Google and other providers may process information outside Switzerland. Their privacy policies describe their processing locations and the transfer safeguards they use.
Residents of other U.S. states may have additional rights where their state privacy laws apply. Depending on the law, these may include access, correction, deletion, data portability, and the ability to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain forms of profiling.
The publisher does not conduct profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Privacy requests may be submitted through the contact information below. Please identify the Site and provide enough information to locate the relevant communication and reasonably verify that the request is genuine.
The publisher will not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right where applicable law prohibits such discrimination.
A request may be limited or refused where applicable law permits, including when the publisher cannot reasonably verify the request, does not hold the relevant information, or must retain it for legal, security, freedom-of-expression, or claims-related purposes.
The contact form is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has submitted personal information, please report it so the situation can be reviewed and, where appropriate, the information deleted.
The publisher aims to make the Site accessible and usable for as many people as possible. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, Level AA are used as a technical reference.
This is an ongoing goal and not a representation that every page has undergone a formal accessibility audit. Some linked or embedded material is supplied by third parties and may be outside the publisher’s direct technical control.
